What really defines a perfect day? Well for me, at this moment, if someone would ask me to prom…and that person better be cute, taller than me, outgoing, and like me for who I am, that’d be a perfect day! However, that person CANNOT be my babo dongsaeng MinShik…why? He’s weird, that’s why! Also, I can’t even begin picturing myself with someone younger…even if it’s one month, it’s still considered younger! I don’t understand how many Korean boys have this “noona complex” … Then again, I remember MinShik asking me if I’d be able to see myself with someone younger, and I said no, I like older men! He then asked me why guys couldn’t like older women then…this is puzzling…
…What’s considered a normal relationship then? Oh well, whatever, this is confusing my already confused mind.
I began my way up the corridor stairs, clutching onto my book bag. I looked around and saw no one that I really knew, or liked, to talk to and sighed. It was another lonely walk towards a dreaded class. My legs dragged across the cold, linoleum floor of the school as a high-pitched yell was heard coming at me.
“YooRim!” She called, her footsteps echoed across the hallway as they came closer.
“Unni—please, no! Don’t!” But it was too late; she had already tackled me onto the floor.
“Are you okay?” she asked in a giddy manner, helping me up, “I didn’t mean to make you fall over…”
“You never mean to make me fall over, but you always do Risa.” I grumbled, dusting off my outfit and picking my books up.
“But you know me, I’m always so happy to see you!” An innocent smile was plastered on her face, I could never be mad at my unni.
“Happy? You’re always happy! How do you do it?” I laughed, walking along towards class with her.
“With these!” Risa reached into her pocket and pulled out a couple of lollipops, “They’re my happy sticks!”
“Ah, so you’re always hyped up on sugar!” I smiled at her and then sneered, “I hope you get cavities.”
“Hey!” She pouted, “You’re so mean sometimes dongsaeng, lighten up! Just because Junsu dumped—“ she slapped her hands across her mouth, “I mean…”
“…” Nice going unni, very nice.
“…You’ll find someone new! Forget him and his fat butt…” Risa quickly piped up, “Smile! Go stare at that tall kid that you really like—“
And at that moment, I wanted to shoot myself. Why? That tall kid that I really like just walked right by us. I hope he doesn’t know that he’s called “that tall kid”…please God; you can’t hate me this much.
“Hey Risa! Hi YooRim!” He spoke, waving at us with a smile.
“Oh hey Changmin!” Risa replied, smiling like a crazy person and waving her hand in a fast pace, “How are you today?”
“I’m good, and how about you girls?” Changmin was still smiling at us, gosh, his smile is so cute…and his hair is really cute…and well, hell, he’s ALL cute…
“I’m doing fine like always!” Risa giggled, “And YooRim is…YooRim?”
She began to nudge me multiple times, but my soul had already flown far, far away to another land. It was called Changmin Island…where it was just me, and him…and…we get to barbeque Junsu to feed the sharks…yes…let’s go to—
*SMACK*
“YooRim!” Risa yelled.
“Ow! Why’d you do that unni? You’re such a meanie…” I pouted and crossed my arms, not realizing that the man of my dreams had walked away with an odd look on his face because of me.
“Way to make yourself look like a retard right in front of Changmin.” She sighed, “Maybe you are hopeless…”
“Yah, you know what Risa? You tend to change your mood often while you’re on those ‘happy sticks’.” I scoffed, stepping away, “I have to go to class now so I will see you later!”
I stomped away, angry, sad, depressed, hysterical…hell let’s just say I went crazy! That’s right; Han YooRim is now completely insane.
I sat down at my assigned area and pulled out my notebook. It was first period. The class? Calculus 3. Total Time? 55 minutes. Time Elapsed? .5 seconds—the bell just rang. There aren’t many people in this class, so it’s somewhat easier due to more teacher and student time, and no fighting for attention or help…unlike the real world out there. Especially the love life world!
There can be one hot, cute, extremely tall, lovable guy—and one girl who loves him the most, but then there is the huge amount of other girls who are only infatuated with him and it covers that one special girl. It’s like being the sun on a cloudy day—and the clouds are all those other girls who think they’re all that, ack! I want to punch them all in the face. Oh wait no, I shouldn’t do that again…I was nearly expelled, whoops.
I began to jot down the notes that were written on the board, minding my own business. I was never really a talker in class, especially not in first period where my brain was defrosting itself from a mentally exhausting, cold night full of sleep and dreams that made absolutely no sense. Wait, I wouldn’t call them dreams actually, they were more like nightmares.
Nightmares of me and MinShik actually dating. Ew, I think I just peed a bit due to the horror. Just kidding.
Twenty minutes into class and a further explanation of rotating functions around an axis and finding volume by integrals (Yes, we seriously do this, but it’s not that hard…) the door swung open as a boy walked in, late as always. His hair was somewhat messy and his glasses were a bit crooked today. I simply laughed as he bowed, apologized to the teacher for being late, and took a seat beside me.
“Late once more, Park Yoochun?” I sneered. To be truthful, we never got along well. Maybe it was because Yoochun never got along with Junsu…
“Good morning to you too, miss ‘Junsu dumped me so now the world is ending.’” He growled, throwing his notebook loudly onto the table and angrily turning the pages to find a new sheet.
“The world is NOT over just because that jerk dumped me…” I glared at him; gosh I want to punch his face so badly right now!
“Sure, you’re just like all those other stupid girls he asks out. I can’t believe you fell for him.” A smirk appeared on his face as his hand moved quickly across his paper, dragging his pencil along.
“Are you implying that I’m stupid?” I grumbled, no longer looking at him but finishing up an example problem on the board.
“What do you think?”
“Stupid people get D’s in classes such as Calculus 3.” I smiled, “What do you think about that?”
“Hey, I only have a D in this class because I’ve been absent!” Yoochun snapped, looking over at me with a glower.
“Still, stupid people have the nerve to miss so much class,” I put my pencil down and slouched in my chair. I had already finished the problem as Mr. Kwon, our teacher, began to go over it. However, today he decided to do something a bit different.
“Han YooRim!” He yelled as I sat up quickly, a bit shocked.
“Haha, you’re going to get it…” Yoochun giggled.
“Yes, Mr. Kwon? What is it?” I smiled shyly, a bit scared about why he yelled at me in such an angry tone.
“For being one of the best students I’ve ever had,” A smile appeared on his lips as his eyes formed a small crescent moon shape that was rotated approximately 90 degrees, “Choose someone to do the problem that is on the board.”
“Oh shi---“ I heard Yoochun mumble.
“What an honor sir,” I was now grinning insanely, “Yah, Park Yoochun! You’ve been here long enough to get the basics of what we’re doing. I think you’d do fine with this simple problem.”
“With…pleasure…” He grumbled, grinding his teeth a bit and sending a fierce look at me.
I watched Yoochun make his way to the board as he stood in front of it, dumbfounded.
“I’m going to get you for this.” I heard him mumble as I could only sit back, relax and refrain from laughing.
Junsu would’ve liked to see this…Junsu…
…damn I hate him.
